Modified on: Mon, 24 Mar 2025 9:20 AMHow to backup Microsoft Forms (Before Easter)
Unfortunately, Microsoft do not provide a direct backup feature for Microsoft Forms. This means they can't be migrated automatically during the Easter Email Migration project.
If you use Microsoft Forms, there are three steps you must manually complete for each of your Form you want to keep.
- Step 1 - Export your data and responses from each of your forms you want to keep - (BEFORE EASTER HALF TERM)
- Step 2 - Create a duplicate link for each of your forms you want to keep and add the duplicate links to a word document - (BEFORE EASTER HALF TERM)
- Step 3 - Send the links to IT so they can move them to your new account (BEFORE EASTER HALF TERM)
STEP 1:
Firstly, you must export the responses from each of your form.
---
How to export Form Responses to Excel
- Open the Microsoft Form
- Go to 'View responses'
- Click on the Excel Document to the right of the screen
- Choose 'Download a Copy'
-
Save the exported form responses for each of your forms somewhere in your OneDrive so you can access them after Easter Half Term.
- Repeat for all your forms you'd like access too after Easter Half Term.
STEP 2:
Secondly, you must create a duplicate link to each of your forms.
You must ensure you do this for all forms you would like to migrate/move to your new account.
(If you don't do this before Easter Half Term - You WILL loose access to the Forms.
----
How to create a duplicate of each of your forms
1. On each of your Forms, click the 3 dots (at the top right).
2. Click on 'Collaborate or Duplicate'
3. Where it says Share as a template. Click on 'Get a link to duplicate'
4. Click 'Copy' on the link it creates
5. Paste the link into a Word Document.
STEP 3:
Send the Word Document to IT so they can move the Forms to your new account.
-If this step is not completed before Easter Half Term - You WILL loose access to the Forms.
